At one time, we only spoke with each other when there was a contract expiring, or when a labor-management problem reared its ugly head. This was true at most levels: national, regional, and local. There was no time, it seemed back then—and more importantly no vehicle—for our industry, labor and management, to sit and talk about the future.

With perfect hindsight, we can now see that our industry suffered for this. The NLMCC gives the industry a place to come together and discuss, on a national level, moving the organized electrical construction industry forward. It’s a unique entity, working to further the joint labor-management goal of having IBEW-signatory electrical contractors to better serve our market.

With the help of the NLMCC, many local labor-management cooperation committees (LMCCs) have been established. In addition, the NLMCC has helped establish programs to enhance cooperation.
