Mutual Gains Bargaining

Date: TBA
Place: TBA

Mutual Gains Bargaining is an innovative system of negotiation that focuses upon discovering interests rather than locking into positions, and engaging in joint problem-solving rather than seeking solutions that create either winners and losers or unhappy compromise.

NECA and the IBEW are pleased to offer the Mutual Gains Bargaining Workshop, an intensive hands-on seminar, presented by the faculty of Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations. It was designed to help NECA and IBEW negotiating teams quickly grasp and apply a practical approach to negotiating fair and lasting agreements of all types.

Fee: $100 per person for the first two registrants from the same local union, chapter, or labor-management committee. The fee for additional registrants is only $75 per person.

Checks for the workshop should be made out to NLMCC and brought to the workshop. Hotel information indicated on the registration form is provided for your convenience.

The program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your place, fill out the registration form and submit it, or print the form and fax or mail it to one of the addresses indicated.

Partners for the 21st Century

Date: 2-day program upon request of the International Vice President and Regional Executive Director
Place: Presented locally

Partners for the 21st Century was developed for the IBEW and NECA by the Cornell Industrial and Labor Relations faculty. It focuses on dispelling disruptive confrontation by building on shared interests. The Partnering program is not limited to smoothing the collective bargaining process. It is designed to help IBEW and NECA participants work together for mutual gains at the local level in all sorts of endeavors–improving customer relations, marketing, education and training, marketshare, and more.

The program is only presented upon request of local parties. To request a Partners Program, the chapter and local union should contact the Regional office and Vice President’s office. This request, with endorsement, will be forwarded to the NLMCC office for scheduling.

Fee: Free (paid for by the NLMCC)
